Long ago there lived a pair
bound by the feeling of love
that made them seek a life beyond the fences of religion and gender
wound around them...
they had dreams of a life together
but they were deemed not normal in the eyes of the hypocrite crowd
Questions and painstaking comments on how they would have kids.
on their stability, and the unavoidable shame ...
hurt them and so they decided to run away from their hypocrite country, state and people.
As they fled... they embraced each other in love... and moved from place to place
searching for shelter, job and security.
they had to rob, do menial jobs and even were chased away by people who doubted their identities
on one such chase they both hid behind a dustbin
embracing each other in fear and chanting prayers...
they were saved this time... but as they got up
they heard a squeaking cry from amidst the rumbling waste
they looked at who or what it was ...
and they discovered a sweet baby
that was thrown away along with the waste...
the baby reminded them of their condition
they took the baby with them and decided to rear it
they were worried as to how things would turn out to be
but alas things turned out better as they found a new purpose and meaning in life
the baby brought new meaning
years passed.... they grew old... still facing the hypocrite crowd of different places
they moved from place to place
and i, the baby grew amidst them in love and care of their love that
transcended all the fences of gender, shame and normalcy
i loved them and they loved me too
but above all they loved them more
and soon one evening amidst the thunder and terrible storm
i saw them embraced in love, fear and solace...
lest the thunder separate them...
at the corner of the room they lay breathing their last...
and i looked at them with tears in my eyes
but feeling the love they felt for each other as something divine and sweet
i said Goodbye! to those true souls as they lay dead with smiling faces, embracing each other...
i realized:
at last they truly escaped the hypocrite race of this world...
